Maintenance & support # TYPO3 maintenance and support Updates, monitoring and a person who knows your installation. ## So that a quiet problem never becomes a loud emergency A TYPO3 installation ages even when nobody touches it. Vulnerabilities get published, PHP versions reach end of life, certificates expire, disk space fills up. The difference between a maintained and an unmaintained website does not show in everyday use — it shows on the day something happens. On one, an update is in place by the afternoon. On the other it turns out the update needs a newer PHP version, which in turn requires an upgrade, and one hour becomes two weeks. ## Included in the maintenance contract - **Security updates for the core and the extensions.** Applied and tested, not merely reported. Critical vulnerabilities within 24 hours. - **Uptime and certificate monitoring.** With an alert before your customers call. - **Tested backups.** A backup that has never been restored is not a backup. We test the restore regularly. - **An allowance for small changes.** One that does not expire but can be saved up over the year. - **An annual status report.** What was done, what is coming, when the next upgrade is due — so you can budget for it. ## Without a contract too If your website did not come from us, we will take it on all the same. It starts with an inventory: version, extensions, PHP, hosting, backups, open security advisories. You get the result in writing, even if you decide against working with us afterwards. For acute cases — a compromised installation, a site that is down, an update that went wrong — there is emergency help. Call us; do not use a form. ## How long your TYPO3 version still receives updates Every TYPO3 LTS version has a fixed end date. After it, no free security updates are released: the installation keeps running, but every newly published vulnerability stays open. The binding dates published by TYPO3 GmbH: - **TYPO3 14.3 LTS** – released on 21 April 2026, free security updates until 30 June 2029. - **TYPO3 13.4 LTS** – released on 15 October 2024, free security updates until 31 December 2027. - **TYPO3 12.4 LTS** – without free updates since 30 April 2026, paid ELTS support until 30 April 2030. - **TYPO3 11.5 LTS** – without free updates since 31 October 2024, ELTS until 31 October 2028. - **TYPO3 9.5 and older** – without ELTS as well since 30 September 2025, and therefore entirely without security updates. We schedule an upgrade to be finished roughly 6 months before that end date. Starting later means paying ELTS fees or working under time pressure – both cost more than a planned upgrade. ## PHP ages too The TYPO3 version is only one half. TYPO3 13.4 and 14.3 both require PHP 8.2 or newer, TYPO3 12.4 runs from PHP 8.1, and TYPO3 11.5 still dates from the PHP 7.4 era. If your installation runs on a PHP version that no longer receives security updates itself, an up-to-date TYPO3 core helps little. Under a maintenance contract we watch both axes together and get in touch before either runs out – not when the host switches the old PHP version off. ## A website with nobody looking after it?
