GEO check # Test how visible your website is to AI The GEO check shows you in a few minutes whether ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude and Google are even allowed to read your website — and whether your content works as an answer. Address of your website Entering the domain is enough. How thoroughly should we look? Quick check about 30 to 60 secondsYour entry page plus everything that applies to the whole site: robots.txt, llms.txt, sitemap, structured data, metadata. Deep check about 2 to 5 minutesAdditionally a sample of your sub-pages, the error page, address variants and the TYPO3 version — everything that can only be answered across several pages. E-mail address (optional) If you would rather not wait: we will send the report as a PDF as soon as it is ready, and get in touch if you would like to go through it together. Start the check Please leave this field empty The check ## What the GEO check evaluates Three questions decide whether a website appears in AI answers. The check answers all three — and tells you what to do about each finding. ### Are the AI crawlers allowed in? GPTBot, OAI-SearchBot, ClaudeBot, PerplexityBot, Googlebot: the check reads your robots.txt and additionally requests your home page as an AI crawler. If a firewall shuts it out, you would otherwise never find out. ### Do they understand what it is about? Structured data, headings, author and date: everything an AI system uses to work out who is writing here, about what — and whether it can trust the statement. ### Does your copy work as an answer? AI systems do not read a page, they take passages from it. The check looks at whether there really are answers under your headings — and whether the text is there at all without JavaScript. ## What is GEO — and why now? GEO stands for **Generative Engine Optimization**: the work of getting a website to appear in the answers of ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude, Microsoft Copilot and Google's AI Overviews — and not only in a list of blue links. The difference from classic search engine optimisation is smaller than it sounds, and in one place larger: if you shut the AI crawlers out in robots.txt, or have your content assembled only in the browser, you are not badly placed for these systems — you are absent altogether. That is precisely where the GEO check starts. ## Frequently asked questions about AI visibility What does the GEO check cost?Nothing. You enter an address and get the full report — on this page and, if you want it, as a PDF by email. How long does the check take? The quick check takes about a minute and looks at your home page along with robots.txt, llms.txt and the sitemap. The deep check additionally samples your subpages and takes two to five minutes. Do I have to wait until it finishes? No. The check carries on running on our servers even if you close the page. You get a link where you can come back to the progress and later to the report at any time — and if you leave your email address, we send you the PDF. Does the check work without TYPO3?Yes. Any website is checked, whatever runs behind it — WordPress, Shopify, Wix, something home-grown. If it is TYPO3, the report additionally names the version and whether it is still maintained. Where do the ratings come from?Every finding names the documentation it rests on — OpenAI, Anthropic, Perplexity, Google, schema.org, RFC 9309. You can check every statement at the source instead of having to take our word for it. ## Report read — what now? Most findings can be dealt with in a few hours.
